A trivet is meant to be placed underneath a hot plate, dish, casserole or any other hot container.  Trivets provide protection for tables and counters. 

Each trivet I make is handcrafted from selected hardwoods and natural stone including marble, granite, slate and travertine.  The stones are 12 inches square.  The wood perimeter makes the outside dimension approximately 14 1/2 inches square.

Corner splines made from wenge are used to hold all the mitered joints together.  A clear catalyzed lacquer is used on the frames to highlight the natural color of the wood and provide it with maximum protection.   Matching grout lines are used to balance the color of each stone with the wood.

Each trivet has felt pads at the corners on the underside and all the stones have been sealed with Sealer’s Choice Gold ™ sealer.

Trivets are between $120 each CDN - Shipping and handling throughout Canada and the United States is $20.
